Dr Gever, Verlumun Celestine is ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide based on Stanford University/Elsevier data. See this link: https://topresearcherslist.com/Home/Profile/962281. He has also consistently been ranked among the top 500 scholars in Nigeria based on the Scopus Scival authors ranking. Based on his publications in Scopus, Dr Verlumun has been ranked the number one communication scholar in Nigeria since 2019. So far, he has published over 90 articles in Scopus and 51 in Web of Science journals. In Scopus, his articles have received 640 citations and 15 H-index. In Web of Science, his articles have received 395 citations and 13 H-index. Dr Verlumun also has 114 verified peer reviews in Web of Science.

            His publications have appeared in leading publishers such as Elsevier, SAGE, Taylor and Francis, Oxford University Press, Emerald, and Wiley Online.  Dr Gever is an alumnus of the Centre for Advanced Internet Studies, Bochum, Germany where he served as a Research Fellow from October 2023 to March 2024. He also received the grant of the Centre for Research and Innovation Programme of the Centre for the publication of a special issue on the impact of digital media on research in the 21st century. He is also a Research Fellow of the INTI International University, Malaysia. Dr Verlumun founded a Scopus-indexed journal, Ianna Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies. 

Dr Verlumun is a Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He attained his first degree in mass communication from Kogi State University, Anyigba, now Prince Abubakar Audu University, where he received the award of Best Graduating Student in the Department for 2012 set.  He also holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, both in mass communication. Dr Verlumun also holds a Proficiency Certificate in Strategic Management from the International Strategic Management Institute (ISMI) and is a certified member of the institute.

He is also a member of the African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), and a member of the International Crisis Management Association, United Kingdom.  He has received six awards for his outstanding academic performance, including an excellence award from the International Strategic Management Institute, for his first novel, ‘The Corper.’ His ability to write novels and poems, use the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and other statistical packages for data analysis, and conduct standard scientific research has made his contemporaries describe him as ‘an encyclopeadia’. Dr Verlumun is exceptionally hardworking and very consistent. He believes the surest way to success is to do what you say and also say what you can do. He is methodical in his actions and has a working strategy for everything.
